Prof. Heiner Goebbels is managing director of the » Institute of Applied Theatre Studies (ATW) at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany - responsible specially for the artistic practise (curating performing arts, audio-, video-, light -installations and many other stage projects).

Since 2006 he is president of the » Theatre Academy in Hesse (HTA), an education network of four universities and ten state- and city-theatres.

In numerous lectures and articles he participates in the contemporary discourse on performing arts and their education.

He is member of several boards for education, research, production or support of experimental theatre and music theatre.
