Lincoln Center’s ‘Fury’ a ritual of dream, delusion

"...In director Goebbels’ beautiful staging, a creek with small waterfalls runs through the middle of the ensemble, falling into a misty pool at centerstage. A small campfire is lit for Act II and becomes a series of small fires on the stage. These are important reminders that this music, for all its contrivance, symbolism and absurd humor, strives for the elemental. It was a brilliant affair, not even an hour and a half long from start to finish, and the audience responded with a well-deserved standing ovation."
