Songs of Wars I have seen

Heiner Goebbels composed a suite for ensemble called Songs of Wars I have seen as a common commission of the Southbank Centre London for the London Sinfonietta and the Orchestra in the Age of Enlightenment, which was premiered in the Queen Elizabeth Hall London July 12th, conducted by Sian Edwards - it was received with great response aswell by the audience and the british press: THE EVENING STANDARD reviewed it under the headline "Brilliant battle cries" and found it "Utterly hypnotic and quite unforgettable." Andrew Clements called it in THE GUARDIAN an "extraordinary musical experience" and the TIMES review describes "50 minutes of gently mesmerising music-theatre" and ends up with "A thought-provoking, hautingly tender work for troubled times"
